Amplified Coils

Amplified audiocoils combine a magnetic-field sensing coil with an integral low-power preamplifier. This design produces Unit Sensitivity 20-25 dB greater than comparable passive audiocoils.

Under typical conditions, output attributes are comparable to electret microphones. In hearing-aid applications, this allows switching between microphone and audiocoil signals with minimal change in acoustic output and without need for a separate preamplifier.

Our new PC5-Series amplified audiocoil is the newest addition to the Global Coils family of products. It supercedes the PA3 and PC3 series as the world's smallest amplified coil, now with the best EMI Protection available.

Global Coils PC5 Series is the world's smallest amplified coil. PC5 Series Audiocoils feature a magnetic-field sensing coil with an integral low-power EMI-attenuating preamplifier. This design permits unit Sensitivity of 20-25 dB greater than passive coils of similar size. Recent tests have shown the circuit used in the PC5-series provides maximum attenuation of cellular/EMI interference, allowing your application to meet today's stringent requirements for HA compatibility

Global Coils PA3 Series is the original model of amplified audiocoil. It features a magnetic-field sensing coil with an integral low-power preamplifier. This design permits unit Sensitivity of 20-25 dB greater than passive coils of similar size. In typical hearing-aid use, the PA3's output is comparable to those of common electret Microphones. In most applications, this allows switching between microphone and audiocoil signals with minimal change in acoustic output, and without need for a separate preamplifier.

Global Coils PC3 Series was introduced as the world's smallest amplified coil. PC3 Series Audiocoils feature a magnetic-field sensing coil with an integral low-power EMI-attenuating preamplifier. This design permits unit Sensitivity of 20-25 dB greater than passive coils of similar size. Tests have shown this circuit provides protective attenuation of cellular/EMI interference between 18 and 30 dB when compared to unprotected PA3 Series Amplified Coils.
